Prospection

Elbasy’s article “Seven faces of the great steppe”” is addressed to the intellectual community of our country – to take the next step in popularization of the history and culture of our people.

The unique heritage of our ancestors in material and spiritual culture, which have world importance, is known only to a small circle of scientists of Kazakhstan. The leader of the nation sets the task to make them available not only to Kazakhstan, but also to the world community. These are breakthrough achievements, according to N. Nazarbayev, forms not only the depth and completeness of the worldview of the people of the great steppe, but also reveal a new role of Kazakhstan in the formation of Eurasian civilization.

The article of the head of State is essentially a development of the ideas of the first President on the fate of the people, expressed by them earlier in the programmatic article “a look into the future. Modernization of public consciousness”. It emphasizes the idea that the national history of Kazakhstan in the global flow of history is present in both spatial and temporal relations, as an organic component of world civilization and to perceive the national history is necessary “in all depth and complexity.” “Seven facets of the great steppe”, as it seems to us, is the implementation of the principle of pragmatism regarding the existence of our country – the campaign, which was indicated in the article “a Look into the future. Modernization of public consciousness”.

The consistency, reasonableness, scientific approach to the depth, complexity and inconsistency of the history evokes deep respect and attention. Strict adherence to the principle of continuity in understanding the past, present, underpinned by the principle of pragmatism, which can be expressed as that the story needs to “work” for the present and the future, both in material and in spiritual terms. After all, history helps to shape the human world, and from the “height of modern science” history should be understood in its integrity, and “not in its individual fragments.” Elbasy in confirmation of his words gives arguments as a justification “closing horizons of space and time.”

It should be noted that the article reproduces a philosophical approach to history based on the method of unity of historical and logical. It is possible to speak in another way: the article is written on the basis of the unity of historical and pragmatic, it is on this basis that the modernization of historical consciousness could be expressed. Moreover, the unity of historicism and pragmatism can reflect the “cultural code” of the nomadic world as “the key to the success of our country”.
